With summer just around the corner, parents are busy looking for ways to plan fulfilling, unforgettable and educational summer experiences for their children. Fortunately, there are plenty of no- or low-cost options provided by The Children’s Trust, Miami-Dade County, and Miami-Dade County Public Schools. But searching through the options for the right one can be a daunting task.

Luckily, the three partners are once again joining JCS 211 Miami Helpline to launch the More Summer Camp Choices initiative for the third year. The helpline and its website list nearly 500 summer camps funded by The Children’s Trust and over 180 camps from county and school.

Thanks to this partnership, online searches increased 76% from the previous year, going from 35,778 in 2023 to 63,856 in 2024. Additionally, the initiative contributed to a significant increase in calls to the JCS 211 Miami Helpline for summer camp information, roughly doubling the number of calls.
