Miami NICE helps small faith-based and community organizations (FBCOs) and non-profit organizations acquire and develop skills and tools to increase their efficiency; improve their sustainability and effectiveness; and prepare them as collaborators. Miami NICE is funded as an intermediary agency through the Compassion Capital Fund (CCF) from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration of Children and Families. The CCF, created in 2002, is a key component of President Bush’s faith-based and community initiative. CCF helps FBCOs increase their effectiveness and enhance their ability to provide social services by building their organizational capacity.
Miami NICE is a unique public/private partnership comprised of the City of Miami, Office of Faith-based Initiatives and Community Outreach (lead agency/intermediary), The Children’s Trust, Miami-Dade County, Center for Non-Profit Effectiveness (C-One), The Alliance for Human Services, Family and Children Faith Coalition, and the United Way of Miami-Dade. Miami NICE will provide free training and technical assistance in the form of lectures, workshops and seminars open to any FBCOs that operate in Miami-Dade County or provide services to residents of Miami-Dade County.
