Strengthening Impact Through Cross-Funder Collaboration

Cross-funder collaboration enables multiple organizations to align goals, pool resources, and support one another in tackling complex issues collectively.

By collaborating and offering match funding, The Children’s Trust benefits from other funders’ experiences, makes more effective investments, scales efforts for greater impact and shares the responsibility of building organizational capacity.

The Children’s Trust funder collaboration portfolio leverages support and resources from other funders and sources to benefit your family with these exciting programs:

Is your teenager ready for a real-world work experience? The Summer Youth Internship Program (SYIP) gives high school students (rising 10th to 12th grade) a chance to intern for employers who are driving the economic, social and cultural future of our community. These companies and organizations are shaping our future workforce while giving back to our community!

With support from The Children’s Trust, Miami-Dade County Public Schools and Miami-Dade County. SYIP offers a five-week paid internship where students spend 150 hours gaining hands-on skills in professional settings. Certified teachers are there to guide and support students along the way, helping them earn high school credit and even college credit through dual-enrollment programs. SYIP welcomes MDCPS and Charter school students. Everyone loves SYIP – students, employers, and teachers all give it top marks! It's an exciting chance for your teens to learn, grow, and have fun this summer!

The Miami-Dade Soccer Initiative will install 50 mini-soccer pitches, launch the Just Ball Neighborhood league to activate the mini-pitches and to establish a Soccer for Success Innovation Hub to build capacity to offer this evidence-based soccer-programming. With structured play, nutrition education, and mentoring, it's a great way for kids to learn and have fun. Last year, the bus visited hundred of sites and engaged thousands of children and youth. Plus, the library employed 105 part-time tutors (certified teachers) at 29 locations, providing free in-person and virtual tutoring for students in reading, math, and science. With a whopping 47,000 tutoring sessions offered, it's a fantastic resource for your child's learning journey!

Is your high schooler passionate about making a difference in the community? Encourage them to join our Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)!

Since 2006, the YAC has been our youth voice in an effort to support children and families. With hundreds of active members and alumni across the county, it focuses on leadership development, community service and advocacy. Its members develop service projects and dedicate thousands of hours in service to Miami-Dade County. Members also attend local field trips and have an opportunity to tour Florida colleges while traveling to the Capitol to learn about the political process first-hand. Encourage your children to join and be part of positive change!
