Parents Can Find Options for Kids with More After-School Choices Initiative

Families in Miami-Dade can search listing of after-school programs through 211

The Children’s Trust and partners Community Services of South Florida (JCS), Miami-Dade County, Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS), have relaunched the More After-School Choices  initiative as a way to empower parents and caregivers to explore a wide variety of free or low-cost after-school programs tailored to their children's needs and interests.

By visiting 211miami.org/afterschool or dialing 211, families can conveniently access hundreds of programs provided by The Children’s Trust, M-DCPS, and Miami-Dade County. Available in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole. The JCS 211 Miami Helpline, a program of JCS funded by The Children’s Trust, remains a vital resource connecting the community to valuable after-school opportunities.

The after-school programs available through 211 Miami cover a wide range of interests and needs, including arts, STEM, sports, music, literacy programs, and physical fitness. These programs are designed to cater to various age groups and are offered at different locations across Miami-Dade County. The goal is to provide children with safe, engaging environments where they can explore their interests, develop new skills and stay active after school.

The initiative builds on the remarkable success of the More Summer Camp Choices program and last year’s More After-School Choices program, both of which have seen exponential growth in the number of online searches and calls.

"This collaboration reflects our deep understanding of the needs of working families," said James R. Haj, President & CEO of The Children’s Trust. “By centralizing access to high-quality after-school programs, we’re making it easier for parents to find the right fit for their children, allowing them to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment while parents are at work.”
